Chutoku Ryu Karate
Chutoku Ryu Karate is a world martial arts system infused with a strong Christian worldview. Savior Martial Arts® proprietary, distinctly Christian karate style contains elements of traditional Okinawan Kempo and Shorin Ryu Karate, Japanese Judo and Jujitsu, Korean Tae Kwon Do, and American Boxing, as well as a variety of traditional weapons.
Chutoku Ryu Karate purposes to develop the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. We teach all of the physical skills and conditioning of traditional martial arts, supported by an emphasis on respect, humble confidence, discipline, focus, team building, character development, and servant leadership. As a fully Christian karate system, Savior Martial Arts Karate also employs Scripture memory, devotionals, and public and private prayer to facilitate the spiritual growth of all who are involved.
Shorin Ryu Karate
Shorin Ryu is one of the major traditional Okinawan martial arts. Shorin Ryu is generally characterized by natural breathing, strong stances, and direct, rather than circular movements. This style combines elements of the traditional Okinawan fighting styles and is widely considered to be one of the major modern styles of Okinawan karate.
At Savior Martial Arts® we offer training and grading in Shorin Ryu karate to our students who have reached the rank of 2nd degree Black Belt in Chutoku Ryu Karate.
Lil’ Dragon Faithful Warriors
Lil’ Dragons Faithful Warriors is a very high energy program that introduces 4, 5, and 6 year olds to the world of Christian martial arts. Focused on fun, the Lil’ Dragons curriculum teaches not only beginning martial arts techniques and concepts, but also fundamental Biblical principles, personal and home safety, and basic life skills appropriate for this age group.
We have broken down the classic Chutoku Ryu Karate curriculum into smaller segments that very young students can master. Lil' Dragons test more frequently to easily gauge their progress and advance to the next rank. In addition to the special belts for Lil’ Dragons, we include games and incentives (stickers, patches, belt stripes, etc.) to motivate and reward each child’s progress. This preschool program is designed to take about 18-24 months to complete. Students who graduate with the Lil’ Dragons Black Belt will be well prepared to enter the Savior Martial Arts® Chutoku Ryu Karate program at the 3rd or 4th belt rank in that system.

Chutoku Ryu Goshin-Jutsu is a modern self-defense system based on traditional Okinawan and Japanese martial arts that include karate, kobudo (weapons), throwing, and grappling.
The Chutoku Ryu Goshin-Jutsu system taught at Savior Martial Arts® is handed down from the Yokota Family Samurai arts from feudal Okinawa and Japan. Studying this style, which was designed for combat effectiveness, adds an extra element of reality to a student’s training, providing added confidence to handle dangerous real life situations.
These techniques range from simple stuns and evading skills to pain compliance techniques, strikes, takedowns, and final neutralization techniques. This tactical control system offers a trained individual of any size tools to effectively neutralize an assailant or overly aggressive person in 3-10 seconds, without doing him any serious or lasting harm.
NOTE: The Chutoku Ryu Goshin-Jutsu curriculum is specifically designed for the well trained martial artist. Students must first attain a Black Belt in Chutoku Ryu Karate before beginning to study this art.
The Chutoku Ryu Kobudo curriculum provides an overview of traditional Japanese weapons including bo, kama, nunchaku, tonfa, sai, tanto, and Filipino kali /escrima. Each weapon is taught individually in weekly classes, on a rotating schedule, over a 2 year period. Adults and teens of any age andy study this style.
Teens and adult Savior Martial Arts® students of any rank may enroll. Younger students must be ranked orange belt or above. Students have the option to test for ranking at the end of each weapons section. Students may opt in as the weapon of study changes.
Savior Martial Arts® offers training in the popular Chinese martial art commonly known as Tai Chi. Zhong De Shi “Faithful Virtue Style” Tai Chi is a “soft style” martial art that promotes longevity and total body health. Proper balance, form, and technique, rather than brute force are the emphasis of this art. Tai Chi is characterized by slow, soft, and sweeping movements, and has been referred to as “moving meditation.”
Savior Martial Arts® Tai Chi benefits include an increase in balance, coordination, muscle tone, flexibility and overall mobility of joints. Proper breathing is a key element of Tai Chi that serves to oxygenate the entire body, help relieve stress and tension, and lead to an invigorating workout. Zhong De Shi Tai Chi is a God-honoring program taught from a strong Christian perspective. Students learn the art devoid of its historically pagan underpinnings. Principles of Eastern religions and thought patterns have been removed and replaced with a Christian worldview.
We use restful music to add to the peaceful feel of the classes. Because of its slower pace and focus on health and longevity Tai Chi is more suited for adults than young people. Adults of any age or health can benefit by this low-impact, graceful martial art.

Kung Fu / Chinese Boxing
At Savior Martial Arts®, our Kung Fu style focuses on speed, fluidity and strength. Our curriculum is derived from an ancient Chinese martial art based on Shaolin 5 animal style which includes tiger, crane, leopard, snake and dragon. We have augmented our curriculum by infusing wing chung and hung gar kung fu into the training. This exotic art broadens our students’ education and understanding of the breadth of the martial arts. Our custom written and produced Leadership Training and Development Program (LT) present a model of leadership for studentss that includes both transactional and transformational leadership.
- Transactional leadership focuses on the skills of leadership: public speaking, motivating others, delegating authority, dealing with obstacles, time management, spiritual disciplines, professional behavior, and supporting teammates.
- Transformational leadership focuses on the process of leadership and what it means to develop into a leader. It is concerned with the heart and mind of individuals and how they can properly and effectively use their abilities to influence people.
Using these two models, we intend to doubly equip our LT members with skills to do the work of leadership, adding to that a path toward inner growth and building character that fuels effective, godly leaders.
